Mustapha Mohammed Bala on Tuesday resumed duties as the 32nd Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Zone 6 Command of the Nigerian Police Force.
AIG Bala psc, succeeds Jonathan Towuru mni, who was elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police recently.
Bala, who was appointed into the force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police is the immediate past Commissioner of Police,CP in charge of Rivers State. He served as CP in Abia State before his deployment to Rivers State in October 2024.
A native of Sandamu in Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State, AIG Bala “holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the Bayero University, Kanu and a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State” reads a statement by the acting Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Edim Obazi Eyam with the reference; CZ: 5300/ZPC.6/ZPRO/VOL.4/74.
AIG Bala who has, “held several command and staff appointments and attended numerous professional courses to his credit,” is a, “seasoned police officer, a detribalized personality, a bridge builder and an astute administrator with zero tolerance for crime and criminality,” the statement reads.
Upon assumption of duty, he “enjoined the peace loving people of the Zone comprising Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to remain law abiding as he is resolved to provide watertight security in the commands under his watch.”
