The Zone 6 Command of the Nigerian Police Force has invited a 17-year-old teenager, (name withheld), over issues regarding her refusal to marry one Mr. Ali Abubakar, who has been splashing monetary gifts on her.

Mr. Abubakar, aged 53, is a native of Igalla kingdom in Kogi State, is suspected to have been having sexual relations with the teenager and has lived in Calabar, the Cross River State capital for 25 years.

The invitation document sighted by CrossRiverWatch is directed to Mr, Effiong Robert, the father of the teenager, whom he is instructed to bring along. They are to report before the Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Unit of the Zone 6 Command on Monday, March 3rd, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

While the invitation document, dated February 27, 2025, lists stealing as the offense said to be committed, an audio clip obtained by CrossRiverWatch says otherwise.

In the audio clip, which is a telephone conversation, Mr. Abubakar can be heard boasting that he doesn’t mind spending huge sums to deal with the teenager, whom he claims he has spent so much on.

Mr. Abubakar who manages trucks for an unnamed individual in Calabar said the teenager had promised to marry him after he took her to his current wife who has five kids for him.

He is demanding that the phone he bought for the teenager be refunded, or she marries him as earlier promised.
