Another child identified as Handsome Godwin, has been found in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, the State Police Command says.
The four years old child, dark in complexion, about 3 feet plus in height, and speaks English and Efik fluently, was found loitering along Calabar Road, Calabar South, in the early hours of Wednesday 28th January, 2026.
According to ASP Eitokpah Sunday, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, a good-spirited citizen reported that he sighted the child while returning home and suspected that the child had missed his way. During interview, the child stated that his mother’s name is Nancy; however, he was unable to provide his home address or any contact details of his parents or guardians.
The Command said despite sustained efforts by the Police to trace the child’s parents or relatives, has so far proved abortive. The child is currently in protective custody, pending identification and reunification with his family.
