Ogoja Vice Chairman Emmanuel Yakubu Resigns From APC

By Kelvin Ololo

The Vice Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Idi Yakubu, has resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yakubu conveyed his resignation from the ruling party in a letter he signed, made available to CrossRiverWatch, dated December 31, 2025, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of Ogoja Urban Ward II, Abakpa, announcing his immediate withdrawal from the ruling party, bringing to a close of his association with the APC at the ward and local government levels.

The vice chairman recalled that he had earlier attempted to resign from the party in a letter dated June 24, 2025, but said the move was rejected by the state party leadership.

Yakubu did not state reasons for his recent decision but made it clear that the resignation was deliberate and conclusive. He appreciated the party’s internal leadership at the ward level, wishing it well as it continues to manage its affairs.
