A Sienna bus conveying passengers from Bekwarra Local Government Area to Calabar, the state capital of Cross River State, involved in a fatal accident and left notably at least two people dead.
Of the two victims are believed to be students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) identified as Gloria Ajor and Godwin Benjamin, who were en route to Calabar for UNICAL’s 38th convocation ceremony.
According to a Facebook user – Odey Matthias Ojeka, the incident occurred on Tuesday night as many passengers lost their lives and many sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Witnesses said good Samaritans arrived promptly at the scene to evacuate survivors to nearby medical facilities.
When CrossRiverWatch contacted the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Innocent Etuk, he said his team has not given him an update on the accident and can’t speak .
