I sought the permission of a long time male friend of mine and comrade, who is a staunch supporter of ‘feminism’ to share my thoughts on a conversation both of us have been having on the phone about this teething topic.
He keeps asking me, Jalingo, all the years I have known you, (actually close to twenty years), you have been a feminist. A very strong advocate of women’s rights and we have attended numerous seminars and workshops both locally and elsewhere on this topic. What suddenly happened to you that you detest that word so badly today?
And my answer to him has remained that, I am a very strong advocate of human rights for both men and women and I still stand by that, and will do that for the rest of my life. But I no longer want to be lumped together with these bunch of sad, bitter, and angry misandrists who are now at the forefront of what we did purposefully for the good of family and society.
In case you are in doubt, there is a network of angry and bitter human beings who have sworn to destroy the family unit as we know it. They have crept in and taken over what used to be a flagship women’s rights movement and turned it to a vengeance and obscene desires arena, foisting all kinds of garbage under the guise of feminism. Rather than nurturing women of virtue, they are encouraging a generation of notoriously rebellious, abrasive, vengeful and slavish young ladies, who think it’s their divine mission to finally put the death nail on the head of manhood.
This global network has permeated almost every facet of our lives and commands influence both amongst the lower, middle and upper class of our society with very influential and wealthy supporters that have sworn to change the world to their own imagination.
In fact, I am a traditionalist. All other persons that I know closely and even on social media are majority Christians, Muslims, a few Buddhists and Hindus as well as a few atheists. Apart from atheism whose codes I don’t know, all other faiths I mentioned supra, admonish that the man is the head over the woman. They urge every man to love their women and urge the women to submit. In fact, there are a few scriptures in the Bible that I even question whether Apostle Paul was drunk when he wrote them about women. E.g. 1 Timothy 2:8-12 and 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. I consider them so condescending to women that I doubt if indeed they were inspired by God.
Yet, a Christian who professes to be born again, will want to tell you she is a modern feminist. How? Denounce your Bible first then we can begin that conversation again. Advocate for the amendment of your Bible please. You cannot be a born again Christian and claim to be a modern day feminist. Same with a Muslim faithful. Their Quran says you can marry four. But what is the modern feminist’s definition of “cheating?”
I cannot be exhaustive in this single article. But with due and well deserved respect to all the women and men out there who are staking their time, money, energy, and even lives to fight for the rights of women who are being suffocated, I genuinely salute you and will always see reasons to identify with you. And for the loud voices of hatred against men masquerading as feminists, let me disappoint you, you will not win! Even the gods are against you. You hate filled minds will continue to ruin your happiness now and always.
