The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) election at Asaba, Delta State yesterday ended in a stalemate after the position for the President was said to have been filled.

Scanty information reaching CrossRiverWatch indicates that after the election for the post of the President was carried out, some group of students who did not agree with the emergence of the candidate who was said to have won resorted to violence and scuttled the rest of election into other positions.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that two indigenes of Cross River State, Comrade Bassey Eka of the Faculty of Education, UNICAL, from Abi and Comrade Ayamba Patrick Samba from Etung, Department of Political Science, also of UNICAL who were candidates for the posts of Vice President and Director of Sports respectively, escaped unhurt from the location of the violence.

We will bring you more details as additional information concerning the inconclusive election are revealed.
