The member representing Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra federal constituency in the national assembly, Honorable Legor Idagbo has condemned the burning of three people suspected to have stolen a motorcycle in Bekwarra local government area of northern Cross River State.

Mr. Idagbo took to Facebook to express his displeasure and called on everyone to desist from such acts as it is alien to the culture of the people.

He wrote: “I condemn in totality the horrific incident which occurred today in Abuochiche, Bekwarra, where three suspected thieves were beaten and burnt to death in broad daylight.

“Our youths and leaders alike should always refrain from resorting to jungle justice, but rather allow the Law (sic) to take its course.

“We equally apologize to all who witnessed this dastardly act which occurred on a market day, when we had so many visitors in our midst.

“Such is indeed alien to us as a people and we assure all that the perpetrators of this heinous act would be brought to justice.”

Three men were roast to death on Saturday last week at the Bekwarra market alongside a motorcycle for allegedly robbing a commercial motorcyclist of his bike.

It was the main market day and the incident is said to have drawn the attention of hundreds with the market drawing to a standstill for a few minutes.
