Reps Accepts Jarigbe’s Resignation

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

The House of Representatives on Monday accepted the resignation of Senator Jarigbe Agom as it’s member.

This followed his swearing in as a member of the red chamber of the national assembly after a lengthy political and legal tussle over the December 5 2020 senatorial by-elections which was necessitated by the death of Senator Rose Oko.

“I wish to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 15th September, 2021 notifying me of your resignation from the House of Representatives following the administration of Oath on you as a Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District,” read a letter from the Clerk of the green chambers, Chinedu Francis Akabueze.

The letter continued: “I rejoice with you over the upliftment which you richly deserve as a result of your track records of achievements.

“I wish you a successful tenure in the Senate and greater heights in the years ahead. Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”

The letter begins the process that will lead to a by-election to fill in the vacancy for the Ogoja/Yala federal constituency which Mr. Agom has occupied since 2015.
