The Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, Prof. Augustine Angba has set up a skills acquisition center in the Faculty of Management Science, Ogoja Campus.
The initiative was pioneered by the University’s Director of Entrepreneur, Dr. Patrick Ushie, and will be overseen by Dr. Cassius Ogar of the Department of Business Administration.
The center is open to all students of the institution who are eager and willing to learn various skills while schooling.
The center is set up to facilitate the acquisition of various entrepreneurial skills like fashion design, soap making, detergent making, and beads making, amongst others.
Stating that students who partake in these extracurricular activities could become employers of labor before graduating.
So far, the center has witnessed the installation of six electric-powered industrial sewing machines among other equipment.
Other campuses of the university are said to be witnessing similar developments.
