CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua To Resume As Cross River State New Commissioner Of Police

Mr. Bello Rasheed Afegbua has been redeployed as the new Commissioner of Police, CP for Cross River State.

CP Afegbua, who is set to resume on Monday, 7th July 2025, will be replacing CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosanyin, who has been serving as the Commissioner of Police in the state for about four months after resuming officially as the 47th CP of the Cross River State Police command on March 27, 2025.

According to a wireless message dated 2 July 2025, signed by the the Force Secretary, an Assistant Inspector General and sighted by CrossRiverWatch, CP Bello will resume as the 48th police boss in the state.

He was decorated as a Commissioner of Police on 14th June 2024 in Abuja, by the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun alongside Cross River born CP Bassey Ewah who is currently deployed as the Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil.

His predecessor, CP Olusegun Eyitayo took over from CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, who is now an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), in charge of Zone 10 Headquarters of the Force in Sokoto State.

According to the message, the posting is with immediate effect.
