The Leader of Obudu Legislative Council, Hon. Prince Ugah Andeshi died today in a Calabar Hospital following a protracted illness.
Family sources told CrossRiverWatch that the council Leader has been managing high blood pressure for a couple of years now but took ill about a week ago and could not recover again.
“He has been hypertensive for a number of years now. But about a week or so ago he took ill and went to his private hospital in Obudu from where he was referred to Calabar when the situation deteriorated. Since then, he has been in critical condition until this morning when he gave up the ghost.” The source said.
His private doctor and proprietor of Obudu Clinic, Dr. Abu Undiandeye said he does not want to speculate on the Leader’s death. “I have not seen his wife so I don’t want to speculate on the possible cause of death since he died in Calabar. But I am aware he has been hypertensive. That is the only thing I can say until I see and hear from his wife”.
Hon. Prince Ugah Andeshi, a former secondary school teacher turned politician became leader of the Obudu Legislative Council two years ago after his predecessor, Hon. Fidelis Amgbah was impeached.
He was married with kids.
