The Chairman of the Cross River State Council of Traditional Rulers and Paramount Ruler of Bakassi, Etiyin Etim Edet-Okon has charged the new management of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC to avoid duplication of projects and take development to the nooks and crannies of the nine States in the Niger Delta.
The Bakassi paramount Ruler stated this when he received the NDDC commissioner in-charge of Cross River, Hon Paul Adah and his team in his palace.
The Monarch while calling on the new management of the commission to leave above board said the activities of the commission and its handlers over the years have made people to believe that NDDC programs and projects are for few elites and not the generality of the Niger Delta People.
He called on the Commissioner to always consult with the people and various stakeholders on what they need rather than bringing projects that are already on ground.
In his remark, the NDDC commissioner representing Cross River, Hon Paul Adah said the new board members of the commission are coming with experience and known information about the people and the commission. Adah assured the Paramount Ruler that the relevant stakeholders will be involved in the activities, projects and programs of the commission.
