The University of Calabar on Tuesday, 17th June, 2014 organized her 2013/2014 fresher’s orientation ceremony.
The occasion which is a yearly ritual, organized to show students on how the university works, and possible challenges students might face in their academic sojourn, was held at the university conference center, inside the school campus.
While speaking, the Vice chancellor, Prof. James Epoke advised the students to be disciplined throughout their stay in campus, as the university is an institution which is built on, grows and survive on disciple.
On her part, the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs) Julia Omang congratulated the students having been selected from an initial twenty four thousand (24,000) JAMB applicants and later fourteen thousand post-jamb candidates.
She therefore urged all the freshers to make attending lectures a must.
Some of the students who spoke to our correspondent, expressed joy over the occasion and promise to put to good use what was learnt at the ceremony.
The orientation ceremony had in attendance all principal officers of the university.
