Three men between the ages of 27 and 36 escaped death yesterday morning as the car they were driving got involved in a ghastly auto crash.
The unnamed victims, who fled the scene on the arrival of Policemen on duty around the scene, CrossRiverWatch gathered from a source close to them, were returning from an unknown nightclub when they crashed into two concrete slabs used in protecting the base of a street light at IBB Way by Otop Abasi Street, Calabar at about 6:58am yesterday.
Two of the three occupants of the vehicle: a green Toyota Camry with registration number CRS KTA 705 AA, came back later to tow the vehicle but faced resistance from a Policeman in plain clothes who simply identified himself as Tony, insisting it must be towed to the Akim police station.
As at press time, CrossRiverWatch gathered, the condition of the driver who sustained some injury was improving in an undisclosed clinic.
However, a police officer simply named Oden claimed he, the driver was yet to receive treatment.
