Uneasy calm now pervades Mkpani Town in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State following reports of the missing of an indigene of the community and a Pastor who allegedly travelled to Usumutong community in Abi Local Government Area on Sunday.
The missing indigene of Mkpani was simply named as Ani, while the Pastor, said to be an indigene of Obubra Local Government Area is in charge of the Assemblies of God Church, Aduma, Mkpani.
Competent source informed CrossRiverWatch that the said Ani was conveying the Pastor whose name was not yet obtained at the time of filling this report, who was on Pulpit Exchange to Usumutong on a motorcycle when they got missing.
A reliable source also revealed to our reporter that the Mkpani community has officially reported the matter to the Abi Division of the Nigeria Police for in depth investigations.
Efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Cross River State, Barrister Hogan Bassey were fruitless as his mobile phone rang severally without answer.
But sources in Mkpani community assured CrossRiverWatch that the community had reached the PPRO who confirmed the incident, and that investigations were on going.
Another source from Mkpani also confirmed the incident independently to CrossRiverWatch and the fact that the matter had equally been officially incidented at the Divisional Police Station, Abi for investigations.
