Governor Ayade of Cross River State has urged stakeholders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Cross River Chapter to put their house together in respect to the forth coming election of the Chapter.
The message is coming against the background of perennial rancor that has plagued the election of officials for the group both at the national and state level in recent years, but the governor’s message wants stakeholders to ensure that the state chapter of the association puts its house in order and conduct a free and fair election that will produce credible and more proactive leaders.
Governor Ayade’s message which was conveyed by his aide on Youth, Mr. Declan Ogar, to a stakeholders meeting of the union recently in Calabar further stressed that it is pertinent for a more proactive State Chairman to emerge as Bernard Okorie’s successor.
Mr. Declan, insisted that Ayade’s administration will be revolutionary while pledging that all his promises will be kept.
Earlier, the convener of the meeting, Mr. Jessi Ejemot maintained that the essence of the stakeholders’ dialogue is long overdue owing to the dormancy of the union presently.
The meeting which was attended by delegates from the various Senatorial districts in the State faulted the inactiveness of the union owing not just to lack of capacity of the present cadre of executives but also to unfavorable working environment by the State Government.
They debunked the notion that youths in the state are sleeping as they vowed to ensure that the next election will be the most transparent and will produce leaders that will give the youths their pride of place.
