Cross River New Commissioners Resume At Their Duty Posts

All the 28 Commissioners and members of the Cross River State Executive Council that were formally inaugurated on Monday by the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade have resumed at their various ministries.

At each of the old ministries and the newly upgraded Departments/Agencies, the new political heads were taken round to familiarize themselves with the staff, departments and units under their various ministries.

The new Commissioner for Education, Hon. Godwin Etta, shortly after going round and meeting with staff at the headquarters, said that he will focus on the qualitative education at all levels in the state.

Hon Etta explained that one of the top priorities of his administration would be to ensure that students in the state receive quality education to come up top in the West African Examinations Council, stressing the need for all the staff to collectively work towards achieving the set objective of the ministry.

The new Commissioner for Information, Rosemary Archibong at her resumption of office at the Ministry of Information Headquarters, Barracks Road, Calabar, was received and conducted round by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Freedom Ejom, who welcomed her and expressed the commitment of the staff to cooperate with her to have a successful tenure.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Education, Rosemary Archibong sued for the cooperation of all staff to ensure the full realization of the developmental agenda of the Senator Ben Ayade led administration, and well as the mission of the ministry.

At the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, the Information Commissioner was received by the General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Emmanuel Akpong who conducted her round the various Departments and units of the corporation.

Mr Akpong assured the new Information Commissioner of full cooperation from Management and staff of the newspaper corporation, and hoped that the tenure of Rosemary Archibong will witness the transformation of the newspaper house.

The new Commissioners for Lands Development, Dr. John Inyang, Rural Transformation, Environment, Justice, Power, Agriculture, Special Duties, Women Affairs, Local Government Affairs, New City Development, Climate Change, Gas Resources, Youths and Sports and Water Resources have also resumed.

Others are the Commissioners for Commerce and Industry, International Donor Development, Solid Minerals, Petroleum Resources, Finance, Infrastructure, Social Housing Health and SDG’s, ICT have equally resumed at their various ministries.
