A nanny, Covenant Bassey, on Friday May 13, 2016 kidnapped a 1year 5months old baby put under her care in Calabar.

The boy, little David Ekpedeme Robinson was later rescued from his captor at a trailer park in Onne in Rivers State by the police and reunited with the parents.

Anxious parents of the kidnapped toddler had posted the news of his kidnap and his photographs on social media on the 16th of May, asking members of the general public with useful information to contact the family or the police.

The dad, Mr. Ikpedeme Robinson broke the news of his son’s kidnap on his facebook wall with this message: “I got to the house on Friday by 2pm and eventually realized that my nanny absconded with my one (year) and five months old baby, David Ekpedeme Robinson.

“Kindly join us in prayers. The girl’s name is Covenant Bassey, about 18years old, dark in complexion. My son’s name is David Ekpedeme Robinson, a year and six months old, very fair in complexion. This thing happened on Friday, 13th May, 2016.”

CrossRiverWatch gathered that the boy has since been reunited with the parents and the police who have already arrested the nanny are continuing with their investigation.

The Cross River State police command say the matter was incidented in the state and there are working with the counterparts in Rivers in the course of the investigation.
