Cross River State has been deemed fit to visit for citizens of the United States, a statement from the country’s State Department says.

The statement issued Wednesday last week and published on the Department of State’s travel website at https://www.travel.state.gov advised United States citizens in Nigeria and those intending to visit the country to be wary of about 20 states which Cross River State was not listed among thereby making it safe to visit.

The Department of State has as one of its responsibilities, the advising of United States citizens travelling out of the country on the security situation of their intending location as well as those residing there and is often viewed a worthy rating.

It will be recalled that the former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle when asked about what he will miss about Nigeria, said he will like to visit Cross River State again due to its serene nature.
