16 Months After Inauguration, Four Members Of Cross River Assembly Fail To Sponsor Any Bill

Information contained in a document that breaks down the performance of the 25 members of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly show that four of the legislators may only have been warming their seats in the House.

Hon. Olory Matthew Samuel representing Akamkpa 1 state constituency, Hon. Simon Nkoro representing Ikom 2 constituency, Hon. Okpechi Friday representing Obubra 1 and his colleague representing Obubra 2 State constituency, Elucate Ekon all have no record of any bill they have sponsored in the House since the inauguration of the 8th Assembly May 29, 2015.

The document which was obtained exclusively by CrossRiverWatch from sources in the State House of Assembly lists the other 20 members each with the number of bills they have sponsored apart from the Speaker, Hon. John Gaul Lebo who is an arbiter in the House.

Hon. Eteng Jones (Yakurr 2) and Hon. Hilary Bisong (Boki 2) topped the list with six bills each while Hon. Joseph Bassey (Calabar South 2), Hon. Regina Anyogo (Yala 1), Hon. Efa Esua (Calabar Municipality), Hon. Bassey Akiba (Odukpani), Hon. Nelson Ofem (Yakurr 1), Hon. Moses Ucheche (Obanlikwu), and Hon. Charles Ekpe (Akamkpa 2), were the lowest achievers with only one bill each to their names.
