The All Progressives Congress, APC says the endorsement of Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, and Cross River Governor, Bassey Otu by the People of Obudu Local Government Area, on Friday shows it hasn’t disappointed Nigerians.
The Chairman of the party in Cross River, Alphonsus Eba Esq. stated this while addressing thousands who trooped out for an endorsement rally for the duo, held at the open grounds of the Council’s secretariat.
“This solidarity shows that the APC-led administration has not disappointed Nigerians. The people have spoken: the way forward is continuity,” Mr. Eba said.
The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Ironbar further stressed Mr. Eba’s sentiments, pointing out that the endorsement was not just an honor, but, “a challenge to do even more,” adding that, “your support inspires us to deepen our efforts.”
Governor Otu, who urged all to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise, also averred that, “Obudu and all parts of Cross River will continue to feel the positive impact of governance which aligns with (the) people’s first mantra.”
The Chairman of the council area, Peter Undiandeye explained that the decision to gather folks for the endorsement rally for the President and Governor, is performance oriented – a statement which comes on the heels of claims by the Federal Government that food prices are dropping.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Sports, Agnes Atsu, while welcoming dignitaries, averred that; “this endorsement is not a political ritual. It is a deliberate and bold statement based on visible performance and the life-changing impact of their leadership.”

Federal lawmaker and member representing Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwara federal constituency, Peter Akpanke moved the motion for the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term which was seconded by the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly, Sylvester Agabi.
A monarch, Chief Tony Undiandeye moved the motion for the adoption of Governor Otu which was seconded by a former Council legislator and Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade, Chief Martin Orim.
Both motions were adopted by the crowd.
