An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Captain Edom Tawo has withdrawn from the Obubra/Etung House of Representatives seat race, stepping down and congratulating congratulating Hon. Blessing Egbara who emerged as the consensus candidate ahead of the Primary elections of the party.
Tawo, an aviation expert, made his position known in two statements issued on Friday and obtained by CrossRiverWatch.
“Today, I congratulate Hon. Mrs. Blessing Egbara (PhD) on her emergence as the consensus candidate for the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency,” he said in one statement.
He continued: “I pledge my total support and commitment to ensuring her victory at the polls. Together, we will continue to work for the progress, unity, and effective representation of the good people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.”

I Remain Committed To APC – Edom
Earlier, Mr. Edom disclosed he remains a “committed member of our great party and pledge to subject myself to the mechanisms of selection and full deferment to the party’s leadership. This has not changed.”
He commended all those who shared his dream of being a federal legislator, urging them to “remain steadfast in pursuit of greater gains for our party, our constituency, State and Nation at large.”

Furthermore, he commended the leadership of the party and Governor Bassey Otu for “foresight, and inclusive style and approach to governance which has contributed to inspire confidence among party members across the state.”
Also, he stated that he will “continue to identify with the party’s ideals and support its programmes to ensure victory in the coming elections.”

Who Is Blessing Egbara?
Mrs. Egbara served as Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare under the Governor Ben Ayade’s administration.
She began her education at St. Francis Primary School in Obubra, and is a graduate of Management from the University of Calabar, Calabar.
An entrepreneur, she served as the Managing Director of Arowoyong Investments Limited with operations in both Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, and Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
