Mr. Ikem, disclosed this to CrossRiverWacth in a telephone conversation on Sunday afternoon where he expressed confidence that he will definitely contest on the platform of the APC.
“It is true that I am actually consulting towards a declaration because when you say declaration, it is a like formal process,” said Mr. Ikem who served as the National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party and member of the state’s executive council under Governors Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke.
He added that: “I am still doing my consultation and I think that by the grace of God, I certainly will be contesting on the platform of the APC.”
The Obudu born politician who is reputed to be one of the founding fathers of the PDP in Cross River State and a grassroot politician, began withdrawing from the party’s activities notably in 2013 and totally in 2014 after his preferred aspirant in the 2015 gubernatorial primaries of the party, Prince Jedy Agba lost out to incumbent Governor Ben Ayade.
