The number of confirmed Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases in Cross River now stands at 58, four and 53 more than Taraba (54) and Kogi (5) states respectively.
Data from the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) shows that the state recorded 13 new cases on Sunday.
The country recorded 304 new cases on Sunday to push the tally to 43,841 out of which 20,308 have been treated and discharged while 888 have died.

Also, according to the NCDC, the active case tally stands at 35 which is more than that of eight other states.
However, discrepancies still exist between the data of the state’s Public Health Emergency Operations Center (CRS PHEOC) and the NCDC.
For instance, the CRSPHEOC announced four new cases three days ago to move the tally to 49 cases out of which 19 were discharged and three deaths recorded.
That data was not reported by the NCDC.
And, the General Fact Sheet of the NCDC in it’s Situation Report of August 1, 2020 showed that the state had recorded 45 cases, 9 discharged and 3 deaths.
The total case tally and the discharged tally was 4 and 10 lesser than what the state reported on Friday morning.

Now, the data published by the NCDC for Sunday is not reflected on the website of the Cross River state ministry of health as the figures remain same from Friday.
