It was a night of glitz, glam and excitement, as the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, stole the show at the recent City Pride Newspapers award ceremony in Lagos.
His counterpart in Lagos, Governor Akinwumi Ambode was also honored on the night for his sterling performance in Lagos state. While the Cross River state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong and Information Commissioner, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong also got on the honors list.
According to the media group, Ayade and Ambode were honored in recognition of their outstanding performance and exceptional commitment towards the development of their various states.
The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Inyang Asibong, was presented with an award for the Most Outstanding Commissioner of the Year while the Information and Orientation Commissioner, Rosemary Archibong was also recognized with an award for the Most Outstanding State Information Manager.
Celebrated crime buster, ACP Abba Kyari, who made the award presentation to the Governor said: “In recent times, Cross River State has been making headlines, topping charts and breaking new grounds for being the State with the fastest growing economy in the country, all thanks to the brilliance of Senator Professor Ben Ayade.”
ACP Kyari who won the hearts of many Nigerians after leading his crack team to capture the kidnap kingpin, Mr. Chukwudi Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans, described Governor Ayade as a Governor per Excellence!
Upon receiving the award, Dr. Asibong noted that the greatest motivation to do more, is the recognition of hard work.
She outlined the achievements of Governor Ayade which had won him many laurels including the Tell Magazine and Vanguard Governor of the year awards.
The Commissioner emphasized that the Governor Ayade led administration is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the wellbeing of every Cross Riverian in spite of the meager allocation from the Federal Government.
