The aircraft, a Boeing 737 – 36Q (WL) with Registration Number: 5N – BYQ and Serial number: 30334/3120 is said to be airborne and is expected to land soon in Lagos on its first test flight.
It has three pilots on-board, Capt. Stan and Capt. Rundolph of Vanguard Aviation Services and Capt. Andrea of Aero Contractors.
CallyAir is a start up, registered as a full service carrier with its main hub at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in the Cross River State capital, Calabar.
The company is a proposed Nigerian joint venture between the Cross River State Government and DANA Group, under a public-private agreement.
Cally Air was expected to commence in Nov-2016, with services to Obudu, Lagos and Abuja using the State’s Dash 8-200 aircraft. A revised launch date has not been advised.
