Following public uproar against embattled Police Inspector Otobong Stephen over series of professional misconduct and human rights abuse, the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Grimah has ordered an investigation into the allegation.
CP Grimah gave the directive in a press release signed and issued by the Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police Force spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo.
The release said the Command is committed to maintaining discipline, professionalism, and transparency among its officers, in accordance with the Nigerian Police Force’s standards and code of conduct.
“To this effect, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations. The findings will be disclosed to the public upon conclusion of the inquiry.”
The Command however, enjoins any individual or entity with credible evidence pertaining to the issue or any other case to come forward in aid of the ongoing investigation.
“We assure the public of our unwavering dedication to upholding justice, professionalism, and accountability,” the release added.
