Calabar Rice City: CRUTECH Graduates Willing To Work For Free

As part of their commitment to the administration of Governor Ben Ayade, Graduates from the state owned Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH have expressed readiness to work for free to ensure the actualization of the proposed Calabar Rice City.

The Graduates who were speaking under the aegis of CRUTECH Alumni Association noted that as products of the only state owned university in the state, it was their desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

National President of the Association, Mr. Eyam Abeng who spoke on behalf of the graduates, said that the association was pleased with the commitment of the state governor to develop the education sector of the state especially as it concerns CRUTECH.

Eyam however appealed to governor Ayade to consider engaging graduates of the institution to facilitate some of his signature projects as it is the only university in the state that has produced qualified practicing engineers.

Stressing the need to engage qualified hands to man the Calabar Rice City projects, the President said that the Association is particularly excited about the project as it will create job opportunities for graduates from the Agric Faculty of the institution.

According to him, “It is our desire that our digital governor create the opportunity for CRUTECH graduates to participate actively in his signature projects.

“CRUTECH is a young University no doubt but it is the only University that has produced engineers in the state. The University has produced sound engineers who are doing well all over the world so now that we have a governor who believes in the youth, some of them have expressed their desire to work at no expense”.

While commending the governor for appointing some of their members into his cabinet, he urged the appointees to diligently carry out their functions adding that, the Association will appreciate more appointments.

The President also called on youths in the state to key into the industrial drive of the governor by effectively supporting the government in a bid to bring to pass, his lofty dreams.

“The governor has showed that he believes in the youths therefore we call on the youths to firmly support the vision of the governor to make Cross River an industrial hub in sub-saharan Africa”, Eyam said.
