In bracing up to its task of improving ties between the military and civilians in Cross River State, the Nigerian Navy Hospital, Calabar, is leaving no stone unturned in guaranteeing maximum services to patients who rely on the hospital for various health challenges.
Speaking to news men at the premises of the hospital in Calabar the Cross River State capital, the Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Rear-Admiral Charles Medani, said that the hospital now has a proper water supply system and would no longer have to rely on a third party.
In view of the importance attached to having direct access to constant water supply in a hospital; a six year abandoned water project came alive through the help of a philanthropist, Ubong King, as a way of giving back to the society and to also foster relationship between the military and civilians.
The Flag Officer Commanding also used the avenue to also call on other well-meaning Nigerians to invest their resources for the growth of humanity.
The Nigerian Navy hospital Calabar has for many years served the medical needs of not just personnel, but civilians who have found services by the hospital commendable as reiterated by some of their patients on admission.
The navy authorities, therefore, believe that successful running of any health institution lies in its capacity to avail patients’ basic amenities in the hospital to readily serve their medical needs, which has over the years being one of the major reasons why medical doctors go on strikes nationwide.
